Duke of Edinburgh Award Expeditions

EDGE-ucation is a provider licensed by the Award Scheme to provide expeditions at all levels, by foot, canoe, kayak or bike.

With over 35 years of experience providing Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions, we are one of the most successful providers of expeditions in the country. During this period, we have taken more young people through their expeditions than any other provider.

The Duke of Edinburgh, HRH Prince Phillip presented a certificate to the Director in recognition of outstanding services to The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

As an Approved Expedition Provider, we offer tailor-made programmes to Licensed Organisations and Open Award opportunities for small groups and individuals, at all levels of The Award.

Our training programmes are some of the most thorough offered by any UK provider. Throughout the series of theoretical and practical sessions, students are trained in all elements required by The Award’s ‘20 conditions’, including most notably, Navigation, Cooking and Nutrition, Camp craft, Equipment, Country Code and Emergency Procedures. During the programme, students will be trained and led by professionally qualified mountaineers, who are in many cases also qualified Teachers.

If you are a licensed organisation providing the Duke of Edinburgh Award or an individual looking for an expedition to join, then please use the links below for detailed information, dates and costings for each level of The Award.

Please contact us directly if an expedition by Canoe or Bike is what you’re looking for.

EDGE-ucation Outdoors will not let students who have restricted mobility or a disability be restricted from taking part. Expeditions, especially by canoe, for students with reduced lower limb function have been very successful. We have found the team work required on these expeditions to be outstanding, all learning so much from each other.
